As we delved deeper into the heartland, the fascinating dance between mileage and charging stations unfolded. Peru, IL, welcomed us with open arms and boosted our energy levels to 89% after a 45-minute charge, proving to be a reliable pit stop along the way.

Iowa City was a picturesque milestone on our journey, though the battery dipped to 6% after 137 miles. A swift 55-minute charge rejuvenated us to 81%, offering a chance to catch our breath before continuing.

The road brought us to Des Moines with an 18% charge, prompting a 35-minute stop that powered us up to 70%.
